This is a quick tutorial for a DIY balloon birthday wreath with a number of the birthday kid’s age that they can make themselves!
I plan to use this wreath over and over again for upcoming birthdays and switch out the numbers for each kid.
Here’s what Henry and I did to make his 3rd birthday balloon wreath.
I cut a wreath shape out of cardboard and a Number 3.
I set out our supplies:
DIY Balloon Birthday Wreath:
- Balloons
- Cupcake Liners
- Stapler
- Ribbon
Yarn Wrapped Number for Wreath:
- Paint
- Sponge
- Glue
- Child’s Scissors
- Yarn
- Crinkle Paper
- Tissue Paper
- Buttons
Henry decorated the number three and chose green for everything. I decorated the balloon wreath in multicolor.
Henry started by painting the three completely green.
He added glue to the painted 3.
Henry worked on his cutting skills and cut up small pieces of green paper.
Added the assortment of decorations listed above.
And wrapped yarn around it.
Henry’s number 3.
In addition to just swapping out the numbers, I’d love for this to be a tradition for me and the kids every year.
To make the wreath just theirs for their birthday, together.
As I mentioned, I made the balloon birthday wreath myself.
I simply tied off the balloons like you would normally do after you blow them up, but without blowing them up. And stapled them onto the cardboard wreath.
I twisted the cupcake liners in the middle to make some sort of flower and also stapled them on.
I kept adding and adding until it became full enough.
I hung it with a ribbon by simply stapling it onto both the wreath and the number three to connect them.
